MESS - Software

Most of you probably already know about XML files available at http://git.redump.net/cgit.cgi/mess/tree/hash/ You can use it with a rom manager (like cmpro) to build sets for MESS emulator. You'll find most of the ROMs in the TOSEC, No-Intro or GOOD sets so there's no point to build yet another collection as long as you don't know what to do with your HDD space :-) All the new ROMs will be included it TOSEC soon or later so I'm not going to maintain and upload updates for MESS collection but I have a few sets for those of you who wants to start to collect MESS stuff. I have never uploaded anything for some of the systems so here is some new stuff:

Labirynt Śmierci - ENCORE's Borad Game

About a year ago Marduk sent me a high quality scan of a gamebook called Dreszcz. A few days after he sent me another scan. It was a Polish game called Labirynt Śmierci but for some reason I forgot to post it. So finally here is it. Just let me mention that the Encore's games (all in Polish) are getting pretty rare now. The games were printed on a poor quality paper so it's hard to get a decent copy this days. Fortunately this scan is excellent. Thanks again Marduk!

D-Pad Hero 2

D-Pad Hero 2 for NES has been released few days ago. I'm always happy to see a new software for 8bit platforms and fortunately there's a lot of new stuff lately. I wanted to write a little review but to be honest I have to say that I found it difficult to play. I'm not saying that the game itself is hard, it's just difficult to play on an emulator. Something about control keys I can't get used to. Anyway... the game looks really cool so give it a try! You can get it from here.
